GoDaddy now offers custom checkout links

GoDaddy

I’ve used GoDaddy as an intermediary to sell a few lower-valued domain names at a commission of 5%. Usually, I want to close these deals fast, and I’m ready to forgo $x or $xxx in order to do so.

The discounts used a Dan.com site rather than GoDaddy, which is the only problem I’ve had with GoDaddy and their custom checkout URL. A buyer who is informed that the transaction would be completed through GoDaddy but is subsequently required to click through to Dan.com would find this confusing. “We can use Dan.com (owned by GoDaddy) to transact,” I said in order to clarify.

GoDaddy is now using GoDaddy urls on the custom checkout URL as of right now. Through a GoDaddy.com link, customers will be taken straight to a checkout page with the GoDaddy logo rather than being redirected to Dan.com. The checkout page is identical to the typical checkout pages that customers would encounter when purchasing GoDaddy services and domain names.

All the information about this update was covered in an article by James Iles on the Afternic blog.
